Help & contact – ECG Recorder
Answers to common questions and how to reach us.
Frequently asked questions
Which chest straps work?
The Polar H10 provides the ECG signal. Other heart rate straps (e.g. Polar H9, Garmin, Wahoo) only provide heart rate and beat intervals – the app then shows heart rate but cannot record an ECG.
The strap is not found.
Moisten the strap electrodes and put the strap on – without skin contact the H10 is off. Bluetooth must be on and the app needs Bluetooth permission (iOS Settings → ECG Recorder). Close other apps currently connected to the strap, e.g. Polar Flow.
The trace is noisy or jumps.
Usually it is the contact: moisten the electrodes, tighten the strap a little, sit still. Movement, dry skin and a loose strap distort the signal. The display filter in Settings smooths the baseline; the unfiltered signal is always stored.
Does recording continue when I lock my iPhone?
Yes. If the connection drops (e.g. out of range), the app reconnects automatically as soon as the strap is back. The gap stays visible in the recording, and you get a notification after about 30 seconds.
How do I show the recording to my doctor?
Open the recording and tap “Report for your doctor”. The PDF report contains key data, the heart rate trend, your markers and 30 seconds of ECG for each marker.
Does the app analyse my ECG?
No. The app is not a medical device. It records and displays, but does not detect abnormalities or provide a diagnosis. If you have symptoms, see a doctor; in an emergency, call your local emergency number.
Where is my data?
Only on your iPhone. More in the privacy policy.
